Department staff provide expert services related to:
- complaints and disputes regarding the durability of cutting tools for the processing of wood and wood-based panels, in terms of the quality of product processing and the course of production on numerically controlled machine tools (CNC);
- evaluation and comparative analysis of wood products obtained in various production technologies;
- evaluation of projects in the field of innovation and implementation studies (new technological solutions introduced to companies, increasing competitiveness on the market);
- assessment of the quality of processing of wood materials (quality of the processed edge, dimensional accuracy, shape accuracy, accuracy of the geometric structure of the surface)
Department of Wood Science and Wood Protection
The Department of Wood Science and Wood Protection offers cooperation in the field of:
- Complaints and disputes regarding wooden products, in particular wood species identification (domestic, exotic, archaeological, including charcoal), qualitative and quantitative determinations,
- Characteristics of wood properties (tests of physical and mechanical properties such as dimensional stability, hardness, strength, etc.),
- Performing aging tests of wood and wood materials,
- Determining the thermal properties of wood,
- Determining the quality of construction and building sawn timber,
- Determining the correctness of the execution of wooden structures and buildings,
- Assessment and comparative analysis of the properties of new types of wood, plantation wood and wood materials on the market (impregnated and modified wood – thermally compacted, compacted, WPC, little-known species of exotic wood),
- Evaluation of projects in the field of innovation and implementation studies (new technological solutions introduced to companies, increasing competitiveness on the market),
- Screening and extended tests of the natural durability of wood and wood materials (fungi, mold fungi, xylophagic insects (including termites),
- Assessment of the quality of construction wood impregnation.
- Mycological and entomological expertise of buildings, furniture, etc.
- Assessment of the technical condition of buildings infested with fungi and / or insects.
- The Department of Wood Science and Wood Protection offers cooperation in the area of research and development with other scientific institutions, as well as with economic entities, on the basis of the implementation of research projects or providing infrastructure for research, on the basis of rent, lease, lending, use, sharing, etc. (possible only on the basis of a written contract or agreement, which are recorded in the organizational unit).
