The project “ALL HANDS ON DECK – European work heritage in shipwright for present and future” is an international project co-financed by the European Commission, Erasmus+ KA2 programme, project number 2019-1-ES01-KA204-065201.
The main objective is to update professionals on how to be effective mentors, so as to attract new young students to the position, to ensure generational continuity in the profession in the future. The adult beneficiaries of the project, who will acquire the skills to transfer knowledge, are the “tool” to attract the next generation.
The specific objective will be to increase demand for wooden boats and to preserve the very important intellectual effort and professional experience of specialists in building wooden boats, yachts and ships throughout Europe. The aspect of stimulating the restoration of wood craft construction in order to protect the environment will be taken into account. Another objective of the project is to preserve intangible cultural heritage throughout Europe. This preservation means passing on knowledge, manufacturing techniques, style and design to future generations.
Project duration: from 02.12.2019 to 01.12.2021 (extended until May 2022).
