In the last two weeks of September this year, The Institute of Wood Sciences and Furniture at SGGW in Warsaw hosted two researchers from IPREM laboratory, Mont de Marsan (France), belonging to the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA), Pau (France). The guests were: Dr. Eduardo Robles and M.Sc. Nidal Del Valle Raydan. The visit was a continuation of the international research project, co-financed by the National Agency for Academic Exchange as part of the PHC Polonium call, coordinated on the Polish side by Dr. hab. eng. The aim of the project (acronym LaLiCoBio) is to provide knowledge about the phenomena accompanying joining wood with biopolymers of different origins, processing stages, bases, and the influence of the characteristics of biopolymers and their blends on the properties of the produced lignocellulosic layered composites.
In addition to conducting scientific and research work in the institute’s laboratories, the guests visited the factory of ultra-thin HDF boards and a sawmill belonging to IKEA Industry Poland sp. z o.o., branch in Orla (Poland).
